The daily gold game

Step one

Get your player code, get your tickets

Just like a raffle stub: your name makes a personal code, and that code carries your three guesses. Write it down — tomorrow, it's the only key that opens your results.

One name, one code, three tickets. Your code works for today's guesses only — checking your result tomorrow uses it up, and you make a fresh one to play again.

The game

Four steps between you and the draw

1 · Make your code
2 · Play each ticket
3 · Come back tomorrow
4 · 98%+ enters draw

Make your code. Enter your name and generate a personal player code. It comes with exactly three tickets — no email, no password, nothing to verify.

Play each ticket fully. Every ticket is its own run: study today's market, read the clues, call the direction, then set your price.

Come back tomorrow. When the real gold price is posted, return and enter your code. We line your guesses up against the actual price and score your accuracy.

98%+ enters the draw. Any guess at 98% accuracy or better puts you in the weekly $100 gift card draw.

Scoring

How close is close enough?

Accuracy is simple: how far your guess landed from the real price, as a percentage. Gold moves a little most days — a sharp guess has a real shot.

Under 70%
no score
70% – 97.9%
fresh tickets
98% – 100%
in the draw

Under 70% — gold went the other way. Your code is spent at check-in; come back tomorrow for a new round.

70% and up — a respectable read of the market. Checking your code unlocks a brand-new code and three fresh tickets right away.

98% and up — within 2% of the real close. That's draw-entry territory.

What actually moves the gold price

You don't need a finance degree — the price mostly answers to three forces. The game shows you all three before every guess.

The US dollar

Gold is priced in dollars, so the two usually move like a seesaw. A weaker dollar makes gold cheaper for the rest of the world — and demand (and the price) tends to rise.

Interest rates

Gold pays no interest, so when rates climb, savers drift toward bonds and gold cools off. Rate-cut talk does the opposite.

Fear and headlines

Wars, bank trouble, market panics — uncertainty is gold's best friend. When the news gets scary, the world's oldest safe haven usually gets a bid.
Good to know

Questions, answered

Why does my code only work once?
Your code is the key to one day's three guesses. Checking it reveals your result — and spends the code, so a result can't be re-checked or re-entered. Win or lose, you generate a fresh code for your next round.
I lost my code. Can I still see my result?
No — and that's deliberate. The code is the only thing tying your guesses to you, because we never ask for an email or account. Screenshot it or write it down the moment it's generated.
Which price counts?
The daily gold price (USD per troy ounce) posted on this site — the same reference for every player — compared against each of your guesses at check-in. Guesses placed Friday through Sunday settle against Monday's price, since markets are closed on weekends.
What do I win in the draw?
Every guess at 98% accuracy or better enters the weekly draw for a $100 gift card. Winners are posted by player code on the Winners page.
